Training Camp Part 1

As I’m sure many of you are aware I’m currently staying at CHS (@cycling_holiday), for the third year running, with Andy Leigh (@andyleigh95). We’ve been here for a week now and have got some fantastic training in the legs in preparation for the 2015 season in Belgium racing for Team Handi-ness, which is finally starting to feel as though it’s just around the corner.

While on the subject of this coming season I’d like to take the opportunity again to thank both the Dave Rayner Fund (@DaveRaynerFund) and Pedal Potential (@Pedalpotential) for providing me with financial support for 2015. The Rayner Fund are well known for having helped riders such as Millar, Stannard, Dan-the boss-Lloyd and Yates to the very top tier of professional cycling while Pedal Potential are a fairly new organisation but one that shares a similar aim. To be funded by both which are supporting some incredible talent in 2015 is an enormous honour.

Somewhere in-between Manchester and Alicante I picked up some terrible Karma. I’ve managed to have three punctures, had to change a rear mech, swap blocks, watch all my bearings fall out of my headset and snap a chain (too much power obviously). Normally I’d be annoyed by all this but the very laid back approach to life that the Spanish have to everything seems to be rubbing off on me, how there are not more car crashes in this country I do not know.

After a rest day that's involved shooting hoops and strolling round a mall (not your usual rest day antics) Andy and I are back putting in the hard work tomorrow. I'm hoping to get another post done before we leave, thanks for reading and I hope you're all having a good new year, oh and if you're in the UK watch out for that ice,
